Which is the best B&B room for families?
We have three family rooms - these are rooms 3, 4 and 5 which is the garden cottage. These are all en-suite and all have a double bed and 2 single beds (one under the other that pulls out to allow four people to sleep comfortably. The single beds are a full size single so also OK for adults. See our B&B rooms page
Does Alma House have parking?
Parking is at a premium in Windsor as it is such a popular town. We have a long, narrow driveway and can comfortably fit four cars one behind the other. We simply ask that you leave your car keys on your bedside table. There is also parking on street which is metered at £1.30 for 2 hours and is free overnight from 8pm to 8am.
Where do you recommend to eat out?
We love eating out. There are so many great restaurants in Windsor to chose from. Most within walking distance. We have put together a guide in your welcome book in the room showing all of our favourites.
For great tasting food with or without the kids we always suggest Meimos Restaurant in Windsor (6 minute walk). This is a Moroccan restaurant and owner, Abdul, is very friendly and welcoming,
For an extra special occasion we recommend Gilbeys in Eton.
What time can we check in?
Rooms are usually ready after midday and we start to get rooms ready by arrival time. You are welcome to arrive after 11am to drop luggage and collect your keys. If your room is ready you can of course check in early. If not then we suggest wandering into town for a coffee while we finish getting your room ready.
Can we leave our luggage for a while?
Yes of course. If you are checking out and want to visit Windsor for a while then we can keep your luggage in our office during the day of your check out up to 4:30pm latest as staff finish work at 5pm.
What time is check out?
Check out is by 10am on the day of departure. Alma House is very popular so we often have guests arriving every day so unfortunately we cannot offer late checkout unless we are not booked the next day,
Can we leave our car on the drive on departure day?
Unfortunately not. We usually have more cars arriving (including staff vehicles and deliveries) so we need the space for them. We can recommend places to park in Windsor - one if the cheapest options is at the far end of Alma Road by the coach car park by the river. It is then a short walk to Windsor town centre.
