How do I pay?
In order to secure your booking we request a 30% non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance of 70% is due 48 hours prior to your arrival and will be taken automatically from the card you booked with. Please make sure that there are sufficient funds on the card provided as we cannot accept payment on arrival.

What payment methods can I use?
We accept all major cards. Unfortunately we cannot take cash or cheque.

Can I pay at checkout?
We require all payments to be made in advance of arrival as Goswell House does not have a reception and staff are off duty after 5.30pm. Please note that bookings may be cancelled if payment is not received in time.

Can I have a VAT invoice for my stay?
Once full payment has been taken, an invoice/receipt will be issued automatically to the email address provided.

What is your cancellation policy?
The 30% deposit is non-refundable. The remaining 70% is cancellable up until 48 hours before check-in, when it will be automatically processed. In extreme circumstances where you have to cancel and the stay is more than 7 days away, we may be able to offer a voucher for the value of the deposit, which can be used against a new booking within the next 12 months.

What if I have to cancel after the deadline?
After the 48 hour point the full balance is non-refundable, unless we receive a new booking to replace yours, in which case we can issue a voucher for 70% of the new booking value.

Can I move my booking to a later date?
Yes, although you may lose the deposit if it's late notice and we don't receive a replacement booking.

What if I need to check out earlier than expected?
The same policies apply. The 48 hours will be counted from midday on the day you wish to cancel, not from check-in.

Goswell House is slap-bang in the middle of Peascod Street, Windsor's main high street - just 90 seconds walk from Windsor Castle.
For more information, please visit our directions page: https://www.goswellhouse.co.uk/how-to-find-us/

Where is the best place to park?
We recommend King Edward VII Car Park, which is 8 minutes’ walk away and free of charge from 9pm-9am. Alternatively, Windsor Yards Car Park is only 3 minutes’ walk, but costs around £25 overnight.

Can I drive up to the front door of the hotel to drop my suitcases off?
Goswell Hill is pedestrian-only. The best places to unload the car are the Victoria Statue outside Windsor Castle, just a 90 second walk from our front door, or at the end of Acre Passage, which is the alley opposite us, just across the high street. Check out our guide to Parking in Windsor here

What time does check-in start?
Check-in starts at 1pm. Arrivals from 1pm-5pm will be greeted by a member of staff. Please let us know if you will be arriving after 5pm as you will need self-check-in details.

How does the self-check-in process work?
All guests are emailed the code for the front door at the time of booking. At 5.30pm daily, all guests who are yet to check in will be sent another email, which contains instructions to open a keysafe. After collecting their keys, guests can use the intercom code for the front door and the room key for the bedroom door to come and go as they please.

I haven't received my self-check-in instructions yet!
For security reasons, and to account for any last-minute changes to room numbers, self-check-in instructions are sent out at 5.30pm on the day of arrival.

What if I have no signal/battery and can't access my email?
Both the intercom and the video doorbell are connected to the emergency phone, which is carried 24/7 by the member of staff on call.

Can I check in early?
The earliest check-in time we can guarantee is 1pm, as we need time to turn the rooms around after the previous guests check out, but you are very welcome to drop your bags off and collect your keys from 10am onwards and we will give you a call when the room is ready. Please do not attempt to check in before 9am as there will not be a member of staff available.

What time is check-out?
Check-out is at 10am.

How do I check out if there's no reception?
There is a grey dropbox in the hallway on the ground floor labelled 'drop keys here'. If you need to speak to a member of staff before leaving, you can ring the electronic bell in the hallway (9am onwards), or call us on 01753 444444

Can I have a late check-out?
Late check-outs are possible, on request, and subject to availability. The latest check-out we can offer is 11.30am, in order to allow the housekeeping team time to turn the room around before new guests check in at 1pm.

If I arrive early can I leave my bags with you until the room is ready?
You are very welcome to drop your bags off before your official check-in time – a member of staff will be available to help you from 9am onwards daily. Please do not attempt to check in before 9am as there will not be a member of staff available.

I want to explore the town after check-out, can I leave my luggage here?
We can look after your luggage for you free of charge until 5pm on the day of check-out. Please bring them downstairs with you when you check out – just ring the bell in the hallway and a member of staff will store them in a secure area. If you are checking out before 9am, then just leave your luggage inside your room and we will bring them downstairs for you. Please collect before 5pm or they may be locked in until the following morning.

Is breakfast included?
Our Self-Service Continental Breakfast is an optional extra of £6.50 per person. This includes juice, tea and coffee, cereal, porridge, yogurts, fruit, croissants, toast and more. Gluten/Dairy free options available on request. See https://www.goswellhouse.co.uk/breakfast/ for more information.

I forgot to request breakfast when I booked, can I add it to my reservation later?
Breakfast can be booked up until 3pm the day before - either speak to a member of staff or send us an email.

Where can I get a cooked breakfast?
The steps to the right of the hotel's entrance lead up to Windsor Royal Station, which is home to multiple great spots for a hearty breakfast, including Cinnamon Café and Bill's Restaurant.

What if I need help after 5.30pm?
After 5.30pm our landline 01753 444444 is diverted to the emergency phone, which is carried 24/7 by the member of staff on call. Both the intercom and the video doorbell are also connected to the emergency phone.

How do I get back in if I've locked myself out?
If you forget the front door code, we are able to unlock it remotely if you press the buzzer. If you have lost your room key, you will have to wait until the member of staff on call is able to come to your aid, which may take some time, and could result in a call-out fee.

Do you have a lift?
Unfortunately there are no bedrooms on the ground floor, and as Goswell House is a listed building we are unable to install a lift, meaning that there are no rooms with step-free access. If you have difficulty climbing stairs, please let us know when you book and we can allocate you to a room on the first floor.

Can I have a gluten-free/dairy-free breakfast?
We maintain a small selection of gluten and dairy free products, but please contact us ahead of time if you have any specific dietary requirements so that we can make sure we have enough in stock. As always, please check food labels if you have allergies.

Can I have a quiet room?
Please ask for a quiet room in the special requests section of the booking form and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Are pets allowed?
As much as we all love our pets, we are unfortunately only able to accommodate service animals at the hotel.

Is there somewhere I can lock up my bike?
Unfortunately we do not have cycle storage space inside the hotel but there are dedicated bike racks in Windsor Royal Station, just up the steps from the hotel.

Can I add an extra bed to my room?
You can add an extra bed to a Superior or Family Room for a fee of £14, plus the £10 per night extra person charge. This will either be a sofabed or a fold-out bed, depending on the room. Due to the layout, this is not possible in a Standard Room.

Do I need to bring a travel cot?
We can provide a baby cot for a fee of £12, or you can bring your own free of charge. This is available in all room types.

Is there a fridge in the room?
Our rooms do not have refrigerators by default, but you are welcome to store your items in the fridge in the breakfast room, or you can rent a mini-fridge for £10 per day.

It's my birthday/anniversary, can we make it special?
We can arrange a bottle of prosecco in an ice bucket waiting for you when you arrive for £22 (with as many glasses as you need), and/or a sprinkling of (faux) rose petals and electric candles on the bed (health and safety!) for £6.

How do I add extras to my booking?
During the booking process - after you click "Book £xxx" you will be shown all of the optional extras available for your chosen room type.
